Albert Gordon, MD (Retired)

Albert Gordon, M.D. of South River Pediatrics

Dr. Gordon's Retirement Letter to Patients
"What to do after decades of working six to six-and-a-half days a week in practice and in managing that practice? I chose to slow down and South River Pediatrics gave me that opportunity. I continued to enjoy my patients and new families as well as challenged by their questions and those of some of my associates.

In my free time, I became our family historian, began reading extensively, and much less medicine. Now, there will be no more missed dance recitals, graduations or reunions and no rushing back from the Delaware beaches on Sunday. There will be more opportunity for nature study, photography, birding, grilling, and especially spending quality time with family. We even have plans for more travel, especially to the states that we haven't yet seen. My children and grandchildren are in The Middle Atlantic and Northeast, and we will see them more often.

Although, Susan, Zoe (our Shih Tzu) and I will continue to live between Annapolis and Ocean View, Delaware, we will be frequently on the move. I will fondly remember all my friends and maybe occasionally see you or your children in town or maybe even their mention in the Capital newspaper. Fair winds and a following sea to all (I was an avid sailor)."

Albert Gordon, M.D. completed his pediatric residency at the University of Maryland Hospital and then trained child development and behavior for two years at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and Kennedy Institute. After 40 years of private practice in Anne Arundel County, Dr. Gordon decided to join us in the fall of 2012. We are very excited to have his experience and knowledge as a part of South River Pediatrics.
